Founder & Managing Director, Hillside Strategy Group
Shana founded Hillside Strategy Group to help regional businesses sharpen their strategy and marketing. Since 2024, she's worked with IDEAL Energy Cooperative on brand management and strategic growth, and more recently started supporting Fuel-Local's online marketing as they raise awareness of the value in using local energy providers. Previous experience includes consulting for multiple businesses through paid and volunteer engagements, through various organizations include SCORE, Dudley's Bakery and Bring Back the Trades.
She brings over 20 years of executive experience to that work, across publishing, energy, water filtration, and nonprofit leadership, most of it spent fixing things that weren't working.
Shana is currently Chief Operations Officer at Bring Back the Trades, a national nonprofit working to close the skilled trades workforce gap. She oversees operations across education, sponsorship, and marketing, has helped grow the organization past $1 million in revenue, and built the multi-year strategic roadmap guiding its next phase. She brought in Salesforce to better streamline operations and support sponsor and donor management.
Before that, she was President and CEO at a plumbing industry company, where she drove double-digit revenue growth, cut expenses, and improved technician productivity and customer satisfaction while keeping the business compliant.
Earlier, she spent nine years at Sprague, a multi-billion-dollar company on the New York Stock Exchange (formerly SRLP). She owned the Salesforce platform across Sales, Service, and Experience Clouds, guided the company's customer experience through 13 acquisitions, and built onboarding systems that brought in more than 15,000 new customers. She also founded the company's Innovation Team and served as executive sponsor of its Women's Network.
She started her career in newspapers, including working at The Telegraph, where she spent nine years running sales and digital operations, sat on both the Executive and Editorial Boards, and managed multi-million dollar budgets with full P&L accountability.
Shana currently serves as a volunteer board president for Wonderland Thrift Shop in Stratham, NH, and has previously volunteered as a board member of the Adult Learning Center, and been a member of corporate boards at The Telegraph and Secondwind Water.
She holds an MBA from Northeastern University and a BA from the University of New Hampshire, with certifications in Agile Scrum, Salesforce administration, and incident command. A longtime New Hampshire resident and UNH alum, she takes on work that solves real problems for the people and businesses around her.
